Hypnotism – Advanced MagicTricks

Nobody except the magician knows whether the art of hypnosis exists or not.

There are many advanced magic tricks that are performed by magicians which involve the use of hypnotism.

These magic tricks are very difficult to perform and require one to master the art of hypnotism as well as stage magic.

In stage magic, magic tricks involving hypnotism are also divided into two types. For example, it may involve the magician performing hypnotism on one subject or assistant on stage. It may also involve him hypnotizing the entire audience to create what is called a huge visual illusion.

Hypnotic Magic Tricks

These magic tricks are in the extraordinary genre of magic tricks. The common ones are the ones in which the hypnotized subject is made to lie on a bed of swords. Then each one of the swords is removed, giving the illusion that the subject is levitating in thin air. This is quite a visual effect but involves the use of advanced machinery and props. It doesn’t really involve the hypnotism of the subject. The magician, who does the magic tricks, hardly moves his fingers in front of the eyes of the subject for a couple of seconds. This is too small a duration for hypnosis.

Hypnotizing the Audience

This is something more authentic and done successfully by several magicians across the globe. This is a tremendously difficult magic trick and involves a highly advanced form of hypnotism.

This has been done in several theatres and open air shows by big magicians. Some magicians have made the famous Taj Mahal disappear for as long as two minutes while their audience stared at nothing but blank space. But the magic trick did not involve the highly questioned act of mass hypnotism. It involved a much more advanced technique called illusions which have been successfully used since ancient days.

Other magicians, like David Copperfield, have also been able to achieve similar results by making large monuments disappear and then reappear.

Hypnotism and Doubts

The usage of hypnotism in magic tricks has always been questioned by many experts and scientists. There has been widespread discussion even about its existence. Many scientists believe that it is nothing but a form of control over the subconscious mind.

They even say that the subject can merely open his eyes and walk out of the room at any time during the hypnotic trance, contrary to the popular belief that the hypnotist has complete control over the subject and his emotions.

Magic Tricks are the Winners

Whatever may be the doubts and speculation, the winners in the race are the magic tricks. They continue to be performed, and audiences continue to be enthralled. But nobody except the magician knows whether the art of hypnosis exists or not.
